An epilepsy monitor starts a conversation
Washington Post reporter Susan Svrluga describes a University of Pennsylvania prototype that lets patients chat with their epilepsy-monitoring data and receive personalized alerts. In a 13-patient inpatient study, feedback through the secure phone app helped retrain seizure detection and sharply reduce false alarms. It is not yet a take-home clinical product, and broader uses remain proposed.
